July 7, 2015 - Montreal, Canada — Ultra Electronics TCS has received an order from the U.S. Army WIN-T Increment 3 Program for its Ultra ORION X500-G radio.
Part of the ORION family of radios, the X500-G tri-channel radio provides best-in-class high-capacity backhaul for tactical networks interconnecting C4ISR elements. It can operate simultaneously in multiple bands (NATO band III+, NATO band IV and ISM 2.4/5.8GHz) and supports a large portfolio of waveforms (including waveforms interoperable with the currently deployed AN/GRC-245 radios). The X500-G can fulfill multiple roles such as backhaul repeater, range extension node, aggregation/distribution point, WLAN and a remote station for point-to-multipoint access at the network's edge.
Iwan Jemczyk, President, Ultra Electronics TCS, commented:
“We are proud to be supporting the Increment 3 Program and their integration of the ORION radio system with the NETOPS software needed to meet the Army’s Network Convergence goals”.
The Ultra ORION family of Software-Defined Radio (SDR) solutions is designed to enable reliable high-capacity communications for land, sea and air operations, with over 50 different tactical modes including interoperability with thousands of previously fielded HCLOS radios in use with coalition forces across the world.
Part of the Ultra Electronics Group, TCS provides advanced and vertically integrated C4ISR and EW systems for ground, airborne and naval applications around the globe. Ultra Electronics, TCS is headquartered in Montreal, Canada with facilities in Ottawa and the United States. Its products and services play a major role in the C4ISR and EW ecosystems for defence, security and public safety applications.
