A season of goodwill

December 21 2021

Ultra PCS has supported several community-led initiatives recently, all with the aim of helping those less fortunate in the local area.

At the Cheltenham site one of the charities that is regularly supported is Cheltenham Open Door; an organization whose aim is to support the vulnerable in the local community. Over the past few weeks staff have been collecting food for the charity and this week a substantial delivery of foodstuffs was taken to the Cheltenham Open Door for onward distribution to families who need it at Christmas.

Staff have also been using their Giving Back Days for good causes this month with a number of our staff supporting the Salvation Army’s Christmas campaign. Each year the Salvation Army across the country create Christmas food and toy parcels to help approx. 500 local families in need (all referred to us by social services/schools etc.).

In the US, Ultra PCS in Manhattan chose The Flint Hills Breadbasket as the beneficiary of their perpetual food drive and have been supporting for the cause for a number of months.  The Breadbasket is a non-profit food bank serving the city of Manhattan in an effort to minimize hunger and poverty.  With 20.9% of Riley County’s citizens are at or below poverty level following the outbreak of COVID-19, the Flint Hills Breadbasket depends heavily on community support to carry out its mission. Ultra PCS has so far exceeded our measurable goal of delivering a full basket of food every two weeks. To date over 150lbs of food has been collected and given to the charity to support those in the Manhattan area.
